Callie is messed up --- But how could she not be!? Since her twelfth birthday she has dwelled in the shadows, attempting to hide from every person who might notice her brokenness. It is sometimes human nature to attempt to drown out pain --- and that is what Callie has done her entire adolescence…
Kayden is a liar --- With an abuse father and washed up mother, Kayden and his brothers have learned to run. In his father’s eyes, Kayden can never be strong enough or smart enough, so he attempts to find a semblance of true through pain. Football, parties and his blonde superficial girl friend who never asks questions is the only way he can hold up his Perfect American Boy persona.
Through an ill-fated and regretful event --- they find each other --- and they are learning to open up --- although when you have been untruthfully your entire life --- lies tend to become your reality and exposing those can be extremely painful.
