The Perfect Game

I love baseball! Yuppers, I do! And stories about hot
baseball player! UMMM --- Yummm, yes please!
Nevertheless ball players, well they are Ass Holes. With a
capital Hole... No freakin joke there!
And Carter... He is no exception to this rule.
Cassie - cute, wounded, independent, stubborn, frustrating
to the point of madness.
Carter - hot, sexy, hotness, sexy hotness, ass, arrogant,
ridiculous, charming, everything that makes a girl gasp and pull their hair out
(all in the same breath).
Here's the short on this little ditty:
Cassie attends a party and meets Jack Carter - Star pitcher.
Jack is your typical player and finds Cassie exceptionally fascinating...
She doesn't chase him like all the other girls and they quickly fall in love,
that is once they realize just how perfectly horrible they are for each other.
Trust is a huge issue and well it wouldn’t be a great novel if that trust wasn’t
broken (idiot).
Carter is drafted and is quickly moving his way up to the
big leagues when he pitches a no-hitter and that is where this story takes a
nasty heart breaking turn.
I could not put this novel down --- the angst was causing me
cardiac arrest! With my heart on overload and I just wanted out!
There were some extremely sweet moments and others that were
just so overwhelmingly stupid I didn't know whether to burn my kindle or suck
it up and finish the book!
But I did --- because, well, I am a glutton for dramatic
endings, and The Perfect Game certainly gave me that.
Interestingly enough, the author grew during this novel and
her writing became more descriptive and intriguing by the end.
I want more Carter and very much so want more Cassie.
I really, really hope the sequel takes us to a beautiful
place and leaves us completely satisfied --- because right now I just kinda
like --- huh... that's it??
Even so, lovely book with some fantastic dialog that is fo
sho!
